Building greater leadership and management capability in Australian childcare centres
AIM Education & Training has recently partnered with leading childcare provider G8 Education for a program that will see more than 800 childcare centre managers around Australia completing an industry-leading business management qualification.
G8’s Leaders of the Future program has been designed to provide a strong learning foundation in leadership and management for G8’s centre managers at more than 470 childcare centres across Australia and Singapore.
G8 Human Resources Manager, Jessica Battersby has said the program is designed to provide the broad business skillsets that centre managers need for improved performance in their current role while also fostering a culture of ongoing professional growth.
“Our centre managers are incredibly creative individuals who share a passion for educating little learners,” Ms Battersby said.
“As their focus has primarily been on pedagogy, practice and primary caregiving, the majority of qualifications they currently hold would be within Children’s Services and Community Sector Management.”
“As Australia’s leading provider of developmental and educational child care, it’s important that our centre managers have all of the management tools and skillsets they need to operate successfully while developing the little leaders of the future.”
AIM’s National Corporate Solutions Manager, Rebecca Middleton has said the partnership is an ideal fit as G8 shares many of AIM’s leadership development values.
“At AIM, we’re passionate about partnering with organisations to develop their leadership capability at every level,” Ms Middleton said.
“G8 has a clear plan for helping their people to realise their potential and achieve their career goals so we’re really excited about the opportunity to work with them to build their own leaders of the future and in turn, the future leaders of Australia.”
The program will see G8’s centre managers, assistant managers and operations managers complete either a Cert IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management.
These programs will be contextualised to G8’s operations while also teaching G8 managers the vital leadership and management skillsets applicable to every industry.
