The Project Management Institute (PMI) is the world’s leading project management organization with 700,000 Global Members and over 300 Local Chapters Internationally. PMI’s worldwide advocacy for project management is reinforced by their globally recognized standards including the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to which AIM’s learning content for the BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management or the BSB40920 Certificate IV in Project Management Practice qualifications is aligned.
This partnership is primarily focused on improving the experience and benefits that AIM provides to project management students.
Key benefits are:
- Gaining knowledge of the latest PMBOK standard – Student members can download the PMBOK® Guide for free which is a key reference text for their study. In addition, access is provided to all of PMI’s other global standards, how-to videos, templates, articles, and graphics showing standards application in real-world projects which outline the fundamentals needed to become a successful project manager.
- Access to personal development opportunities – Being a PMI student member opens the door to a range of development opportunities, including live and on-demand webinars as well as virtual conferences.
- Networking opportunities – PMI student members gain access to a global network of over 450,000 project professionals. Students can choose to join a local PMI chapter and attend local events as well as participating in the online PMI community.
- Pathways to further certifications – having a student membership with PMI can help graduates to save on future advanced certifications, such as earning a Certified Associate in Project Management.
- Unlocking free tools – Being a PMI student member enables you to access over a 1,000 free tools and templates, such as those relating to project plans, deliverable templates and checklists.
By providing this membership with PMI, AIM is not only providing free access to supporting materials that aid study, but also can build a pathway enabling students to access opportunities that can help facilitate building a successful project management career.
