27 June 2008 New Chairman for the Australian Institute of ManagementTerry Agnew FAIM was recently elected National Chairman of the Australian Institute of Management, taking over from Keith Hilless, Chairman Ergon Energy who has retired after two years at the helm. "I am pleased to be elected to this national position, and thank Keith for the role he has played at the Institute over the previous years," said Mr Agnew. Mr Agnew served as President of the Australian Institute of Management Western Australia from 2006 to 2008, and as Board Director there during the previous two years. "I feel privileged to have been President of the Institute in Western Australia at the time of its 50th anniversary celebrations," said Mr Agnew. "Keith vacates the National Chair with AIM in a strong position. I look forward to working with the National Board as we capitalise on that strength." AIM is recognised nationally as the leader in management performance improvement and leadership development. This focus will continue in the future and the Board looks forward to facilitating further growth. Mr Agnew is Group Chief Executive, RAC of Western Australia – a position he has held for 10 years. He is on the Board of the West Coast Eagles, and is a Councillor of the Australian Business Arts Foundation, WA. He holds an MSc and an MBA, and in 2005 he completed an Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. "I am committed to helping the future growth of the Institute," said Mr Agnew. "I look forward to contributing to and supporting the national initiatives." |
